Funeral services for Tom Leehy, age 55 of Omaha, who died at his residence Friday, November 16, 1990 after a lengthy illness, will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, at St. John Vianney Catholic Church in Omaha with burial in the Holy Cross Cemetery in Blair.

Thomas Francis Leehy was born on January 26, 1935 at Ft. Calhoun, Nebraska to John J. and Charlotte Maher Leehy. After his graduation from Blair High School, he served his country in the Marines.

After his graduation from Dana he took a teaching and coaching position at Beaver Crossing, Nebraska. After the death of Cleone in 1969, Tom and his children moved to Gretna, Nebraska to teach and coach.

There he married Nita Keeley in 1970. She preceded him in death in 1975.

On August 1, 1980 Tom was united in marriage to Linda Sedlacek of Gretna. They lived in Gretna, until 1989, at which time they moved to Omaha.

Tom was a member of the Nebraska Educational Association and Gretna American Legion.

He is survived by his wife, Linda; seven children, Annie Eich, Whiting, Iowa; and Reen Warren, Ryan Leehy, Mary Soukup, Brendan Leehy, Patrick Leehy and Kevin Leehy, all of Omaha, Nebraska; five grandchildren, Andrea, Anthony and Nathan Eich; Tyler Leehy and Keeley Warren; five brothers, Jack, Norfolk, Nebraska; Jim, Blair, Nebraska; Michael, Omaha, Nebraska; Rich, Franklin, Kentucky; and Larry, Colorado Springs, Colorado; and one sister, Margaret Trauernicht of Omaha, Nebraska. Tom is also survived by his stepmother, Maureen Leehy of Blair, Nebraska and numerous nieces and nephews.

Campbell-Aman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
