Leona Kuhls Is Buried

Funeral services were Saturday, January 15, at Immanuel Lutheran Church east of Winslow, for Leona Kuhls, 76, of Fremont, who died January 12, 1983, at Memorial Hospital of Dodge County after a long illness.

The Rev. Rodney Meske conducted the services. Burial was in the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery.

Leona Kuhls was born December 30, 1906, in Altona, and moved to the Hooper area with her family in 1914. She farmed in the Washington County area until the death of her husband in 1972. She moved to Fremont in 1974.

She was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church of Hooper, the Ladies Aid and the Immanuel Lutheran Women’s Missionary League.

She married Walter Kuhls on October 4, 1950, in Fremont. He preceded her in death November 27, 1972.

She is survived by four brothers, Victor Panning, Ted Panning and Arthur Panning, all of Fremont, and Irvin Panning of Hooper; and two sisters, Mrs. Esther Stong of Pasadena, California; and Mrs. Gordon (Ruth) Rabe of Arlington.
