Raymond Myron Kuhr, 83

Services for Raymond Myron Kuhr, age 83 of Blair, who died at his home September 29, 1992 will be 1:30 p.m Friday, October 2 at the First Christian Church. Burial will be in the Blair Cemetery.

Raymond Myron Kuhr was born November 15, 1908 in Blair to George H. and Mary Hansen Kuhr. He attended the Lincoln and Rose Hill Schools while helping his parents on their farm near Blair.

He began farming on his own in 1931 on a farm southwest of Kennard.

On June 20, 1934 he married Elna A. Frain. They were partners in a busy, happy life on their farm for 53 years. In 1986, they retired from active farming and moved to Blair where they resided at the time of his death.

He was baptized as a young boy on September 9, 1923 in the Lutheran Faith as his neighborhood church. He was baptized again on June 27, 1941 at the First Christian Church in Blair.

He held many offices in the church for several years including Treasurer, Congregational Chairman of the Board and Trustee. He was elected Elder Emeritus in 1979 having been an Elder for all those years, until his health prevented his being as active a worker as he had been for nearly 50 years. He also took an active part in the building reconstruction of the present church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Viola Kuhr and three brothers, Harvey, Lloyd and Leroy.

He is survived by his wife, Elna of Blair; two children, Alice Cruse of Dakota City, Nebraska and Melvin Kuhr of Greeley, Colorado; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and two sisters, Amanda Kahnk of Fremont and Opal Ruwe of Blair.

Campbell-Aman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
