Violet M. Kull, 85

Arlington native Violet M. Kull, 85, of Fremont, died Wednesday, April 13, 2005, at Nye Point Health & Rehab Center in Fremont.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday, April 18, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Fremont. Interment will be in Fremont’s Memorial Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday, April 17, at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont, with the family receiving friends from 2 to 4 p.m. Visitation will also be held from 9 to 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, and one hour prior to services at the church.

Violet M. Kull was born May 6, 1919, in Arlington to John W. and Elnora (Lund) Echtenkamp. She was raised in Arlington, and moved to Fremont in 1935.

On Aug. 5, 1939, she married LeRoy F. Kull in Fremont.

Mrs. Kull worked as an inspector for Western Electric in Omaha from 1959 to February 1983.

She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Fremont; the 30 Bowl and Plaza Lanes bowling leagues; the Monday Card Bunch and Fremont Eagles Auxiliary Aerie 200, all in Fremont. She was a Nebraska football fan and attended many games. She enjoyed taking cruises, and had taken cruise tours to Alaska, the Caribbean, and to Hawaii. She also enjoyed her yard and roses.

She is survived by a daughter, Janet Nelson of Fremont; three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Harlan and Wilma Echtenkamp of Weston, Conn., Lyle and Marilyn Echtenkamp of Humboldt, Tenn., and Alan Echtenkamp of Hilton Head Island, S.C.; five grandchildren and their spouses; 22 great-grandchildren; a brother-in-law, Obert Laaker of Omaha; three sisters-in-law, Lucille Echtenkamp, Mary Lou Echtenkamp, and Norma and Gerald Petersen, all of Fremont.

She was preceded in death by her husband, LeRoy, in 1981; a daughter, Jean McLaughlin; two sons-in-law, Donn Nelson and Kenneth McLaughlin; two sisters, Norma Laaker and Lois Echtenkamp; and two brothers, Lloyd and Dale Echtenkamp.

Memorials are suggested to Trinity Lutheran Church.
