Pearl Kundel, 81

Funeral Services for Pearl Kundel, age 81, of Minden, Iowa and Blair, Nebraska, who died December 29, 1989 at Memorial Community Hospital in Blair, were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, January 3 at the United Church of Christ (Congregational) at Minden, Iowa. Burial was in the Minden, Iowa Cemetery.

Pearl Ivers was born on March 17, 1908 to William D. and Carrie Albrecht Ivers. She grew up in Minden, Iowa and attended and graduated from Minden Public School. Pearl completed some college classes and taught elementary classes in Minden, Iowa.

In 1929 she married Ray Kundel and they continued to live in Minden, Iowa most of their lives. Pearl and her husband, Ray, were farm owners and managers.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Mabel.

Pearl is survived by her husband, Ray; four daughters and sons-in-law, Lavonne and Roger Olsen, Council Bluffs, Iowa; Bonnie and Art Boltz, Kirkland, Washington; Carol Kundel, Roland, Iowa; Dorothy and Roger Olson, Blair, Nebraska and five sons and daughters-in-law, Dr. Robert and Joanne Kundel, Rice Lake, Wisconsin; Dr. Donald and Kathy Kundel, Duluth, Minnesota; Dr. David and Margaret Kundel, Aberdeen, South Dakota; Dr. Ray Lunn and Maria Kundel, Duluth, Minnesota and Dr. Richard and Bridget Kundel of Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She is also survived by 18 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Because of the high value Ray and Pearl placed on education, the Ray and Pearl Kundel elementary education scholarship has been established at Dana College in Blair.
