Marie Olson, 89 of Oakland, Nebr. and formerly of Uehling, Nebr., died Monday, April 21, 1997 at the Oakland Memorial Hospital in Oakland.

Services will be 2 p.m. Friday at the First Congregational Church in Uehling. Rev. Wallace Barth will officiate. Burial will be in the Baptist Cemetery in rural Uehling.

Visitation will be Thursday from 1 pm.-8p.m. at the Palmquist-Pelan Funeral Home in Oakland.

She is the aunt of Jim Realph of Blair.

Olson was born July 25, 1907 on a farm west of Swaburg Church in rural Uehling to John Ambrose and Christina Olson Erickson. She attneded school at District No. 84 and graduated from Uehling High School in 1925. She attended Midland College in Fremont, Nebr., for one year and then taught school at District No. 84. On July 14, 1930, she married Charles Lorraine Olson at the First Congregational Church parsonage in Uehling. They made their home in Omaha for nearly 50 years. In 1979, they moved to Uehling.

Survivors are her husband, Charles Lorraine (Olson) of Oakland; three nephews, Jim Realph of Blair; Roger Clough, Ph.D. of St. Louls, Mo.; and Dr. David Clough of Chanhassen, Minn., and two nieces, Carolee Laughren of Bellevue, Wash. and LaNelle Clough of Waterloo, Nebr.

She was preceded in death by her parent and three sisters, Marjorie, Bernice,and Blanche.

Casket bearers will be Marc Clough, Michael Clough, Marty Clough, John Clough, David Clough, Roger Clough, Preston Ricker and Jim Realph.

Leta Olson will be the organist. Gloria Wedergren will be the soloist.

Memorials may be given to the First Congregational Church in Uehling or the Baptist Cemetery.
