URBAN E. CACHELIN, 86

Urban E. Cachelin, 86, died July 9, 2007, at the Morning Star Care Center in Fort Washakie, Wyo.

Funeral services were July 12 at Hudson’s Funeral Home, with interment in the Mount Hope Cemetery in Lander, Wyo.

Urban Edward “Cash” Cachelin was born Dec. 3, 1920, in DeSoto to Ed and Hazel Cachelin.

He enlisted in the U.S. Army in October 1942 and served in the Pacific Theater during World War II. He was honorably discharged in November 1945 in Fort Leavenworth, Kan.

In 1946, he married Bernetta Nelson, and together, they had six children. Mr. Cachelin worked in the oil fields for many years and ranched in the Ethete area. He moved to Anchorage, Alaska, in 1976, where he lived until returning to the Lander area in 2001.

He is survived by his caregiver, Bernetta Goodrich of Lander; daughters and sons-in-law, Cindy and Smokey Deshaw of Fort Washakie; Linda and Steve Sutherland of Thermopolis, Wyo.; Karen and David Good of Lander, Wyo.; sons and daughters-in-law, Marvin and Pauline Cachelin, Terry and Kathy Cachelin, all of Lander; David Cachelin of British Columbia, Canada; 19 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; sisters, Francis Shepherd, Joanne Crofton and Illa Cachelin, all of Washington County; and a brother, Charles Cachelin of California.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Thelma (Cachelin) Bigg; grandson, Devin Dale Deshaw, and a granddaughter, Alfreda Faye Deshaw.
