Sumner, Mrs. W.H. 6/1903

Obituary printed in the June 4, 1903 Republican, Nebraska; place of publication not listed or known; death month taken from news clipping.

News has been received at Schuyler of the death in Boston, Mass., of Mrs. W.H. Sumner. Mr. and Mrs. Sumner were among the earliest settlers of Colfax county [Nebraska], and the banking, brokerage and real estate business of Sumner Brothers (Charles Sumner, late of Omaha, and W.H. Sumner), was the pioneer institution of its kind in this county and the most successful business of its kind ever conducted in the county. The Sumners have relatives here, and a host of friends, whom they visited annually, who will greatly miss the deceased and deeply sympathize with the bereft husband. Mrs. Sumner will be entombed in Appleton, Me. In early life the deceased was a schoolmate and personal friend of the REPUBLICAN editor and wife.

Note: Since the actual death date was not given, the news article date was used.
