Albert C. Sunds, 92

Services were Monday, April 1 at the Arlington Community Church in Arlington for Albert C. Sunds, 92, of Arlington, who died at St. Francis Memorial Hospital in West Point, Nebraska March 28, 1996. Rev. Lee J. Milligan officiated. Burial was in the Elk City Cemetery at Elk City, Nebraska.

Albert C. Sunds was born January 5, 1904 at Kennard. He grew up in the Kennard, Washington and Bennington areas. He farmed southwest of Bennington and then southeast of Arlington.

He moved into Arlington in 1968 and worked at Marshall Nurseries for about 10 years. He had been a resident at the Good Samaritan Center in Scribner since August of 1992.

A retired farmer and stockman, he was honored as a 50-year shipper of livestock by the Union Stockyards at Omaha.

He was a member of the Arlington Community Church in Arlington.

He married Thelma Jefferson February 15, 1928 at Omaha. She preceded him in death April 5, 1985.

He was also preceded in death by his parents, Chris and Tomina Wham Sunds; brothers, Jim Sunds and Martin Sunds and a sister, Elvira Tietgen.

He is survived by two daughters, Bonnie (Mrs. Carl Dean) Buhl of Fremont and Virginia (Mrs. Jim) Frye of West Point; two sisters, Erna Matzen of Fort Collins, Colorado and Freida Weise of Elkhorn; five grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Pallbearers were Warren Sunds, Dick White, Don Worner, Merle Bassett, Leonard Schmidt and Lloyd Rohwer.

Memorials may be directed to the Arlington Community Church.

Reckmeyer-Moser Funeral Home in Arlington was in charge of arrangements.
