Minnie E. Surber, 82 of Council Bluffs, Iowa died Saturday, Aug. 23, 1997 at Merrick Manor in Fremont.

Services were Wednesday at Meyer-Woodring Chapel in Council Bluffs with Rev. Dee Jay Reiff officiating. Burial was in Forest Lawn Cemetery in Omaha.

Surber was born in Danbury, Iowa Sept. 24, 1914. She had lived in Council Bluffs since 1960. She was a manager for Goodrich Dairy Stores for many years. She was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church, the Order of Eastern Star, Chapter No 441 in Council Bluffs, Arbor Vitae No. 92 in Fremont and the White Shrine. She was also a volunteer at Jennie Edmundson Hospital in Council Bluffs.

She is survived by three daughters, Marlene Grosvenor of Council Bluffs; Janis Tibke of Arlington and Wanda (Mrs. Edward) Tibke of Omaha; two sons, Jon Surber and James Surber, both of Council Bluffs; one brother, Raymond Scott of Danbury; 21 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl in 1995.

Meyer-Woodring Funeral Home in Council Bluffs was in charge of arrangements.
