Services were held May 6 at the First Baptist Church in Tekamah for Doris Opal Beum, 76. She died May 2 at Clarkson Memorial Hospital in Omaha.

She was born August 22, 1908, near Tekamah to Mary Elizabeth and Prosper Franklin Trowbridge. She was the 10th of 13 children.

She married Walter Thomas Beum December 10, 1927.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Tekamah, a Gold Star Sister in the VFW Auxiliary in which she was a 35- year member, and was a 40-year member of the American Legion Auxiliary.

She was preceded in death by her husband, 11 brothers and sisters, two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

She is survived by a son Alfred Clausen of Dixon Missouri, daughters Mrs. Samuel (Lillis Gene) Thompson of Lyons, Mrs. August (Verah) Lallman of Arlington, Mrs. Dale (Nada) Shadonix of Forest Dale, Iowa, Waletta Elske of Tekamah, Mrs. Richard (Harriet) Litel of Forest City, Iowa, and Mrs. Oren Knight , the former Elizabeth Shafer of Omaha, who came to make her home with the family at the age of nine, a brother Merritt Trowbridge of Tekamah; 29 grandchildren and 34 great grandchildren.

Rev. Victor Crawford officiated at the rites. Patricia Hampton and Clifford Morrow were the vocalists. Kim Brenis was the organist.

Pallbearers were her grandsons, Gordon Fox, Gerald Fox, Richard Elske, Thomas Shadonix, William Shadonix and Mathew Clausen.

Burial was at Tekamah Cemetery.
