CLYDE BUNTEN, 56

Services for Clyde Bunten, 56 of Blair, who died at Clarkson Hospital in Omaha May 13, 1996 will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 17, 1996 at First Lutheran Church in Blair. Burial will be in the Blair Cemetery.

A Masonic service will be 7 p.m. Thursday at Campbell-Aman Funeral Home.

Clyde V. Bunten Jr. was born November 8, 1939 in Kansas City, Missouri to Clyde and Alice Thordsen Bunten Sr. He attended elementary school in Council Bluffs, Iowa and the March School in rural Blair. He graduated from Blair High School in 1958 and attended Dana College.

He worked for the Internal Revenue Service from 1961 to 1969 and for the Ray Ryder accounting firm until 1988, at which time he started the Bunten Agency.

He was a member of First Lutheran Church, a lifetime member of the Blair P.T.A., and was involved in the Girls Softball Association, coaching and umpiring for many years. He was secretary and treasurer of the men’s bowling league, a member of the Blair Masonic Lodge, Blair Fraternal Order of Eagles, Blair Optimist Club and Ducks Unlimited.

He married Phyllis Rasmussen at Blair in November, 1962.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a stepfather; one sister and one nephew.

He is survived by his wife, Phyllis; a daughter and son-in-law, Tammy and Scott Royer; a daughter, Kimberly Bunten; three grandchildren, Nicky, Brittney and Andy, all of Blair and a sister and brother-in-law, Dorothy and Richard Wick of Council Bluffs, Iowa.

Memorials may be directed to the Diabetes Foundation or the Cancer Society.
