Mrs. Christina Ladwig Rites Fri.

Another old settler of Blair is the person of Mrs. Christina Hagge Ladwig passed from this life Tuesday evening at ten o’clock. Had she lived until June 2 she would have reached her 78th year.

She was born in Germany in 1861 and in the fall of 1884 came to this country and directly to Blair where in March 1886 she was married to William Ladwig.

They continued to make their home in Blair and here they reared a family of twelve children, three daughters, Mrs. Leland Allen, of Omaha; Mrs. Troy Foland of Petersburg, Nebraska; and Mrs. Arthur Koehler, of Omaha and nine sons, William, of Elgin, Nebraska; Ernest, of Manilla, Iowa; Henry, of Holdrege, Nebraska; Frank, of Grand Island, Nebraska; Albert, of Chadron, Nebraska; Herman, Frederick, Peter and John of Blair.

Her husband preceded her death in October, *1924. Since that time comforted and looked after by the loving hands of her children she has gone on keeping the home for her sons who were at home with her and a place of welcome for those who were away but who never forgot her.

The funeral services will be held Friday, February 25 at 2:00 o’clock from the Campbell Funeral Home with Rev. R. P. Rasmussen officiating and interment will be made in the Blair cemetery.
