Funeral services were held Friday, April 29, at First United Methodist Church in Blair for Irene Mae Axtell, 69, who died April 27, 1983, in Memorial Community Hospital in Blair.

The Rev. Gordon Patterson officiated. Burial was in the Blair Cemetery.

Irene Mae Axtell was born October 26, 1913, at Blair, to Louis and Edith Loftis Larsen. She married Orville Axtell.

She was a dishwasher in a café.

She was preceded in death by her husband.

She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Evelyn Kay Hansen, Fremont, and Mrs. LaVaughn Holdman, San Mateo, California. Five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Olive Honeycutt, Fremont, also survive her.

Pallbearers were Harry Beck, Gordon Vinton, Kenneth Bender and Keith Vinton.

Bette Kirk was organist. Clare Cowing was soloist.

Campbell Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements for the services.
