Rose A. Hagedorn, 93, of Blair, died Monday, Nov. 11, 2002, at Good Shepherd Home in Blair.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 13 at the Campbell-Aman Funeral Home. Interment will be in the German Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 12, with family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m.

Rose Amanda Hagedorn was born July 29, 1909, on the farm north of Bennington to Herman and Mary (Petersen) Lambrecht.

On Oct. 19, 1928, she married Otto J. Hagedorn in Bennington. The couple farmed in the Bennington area until 1942, then moved to the Irvington area where they farmed until Otto’s death in 1967. Mrs. Hagedorn continued to live on the farm until moving to Good Shepherd Home in June, 1999.

Mrs. Hagedorn enjoyed raising her children, along with farming with her husband. She was affectionately known as “Mother Goose” because of her love of raising geese. She also enjoyed raising chickens, along with gardening, growing flowers, sewing and cooking.

She is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Rose and Roy Wulf of Omaha, and Patricia Hagedorn of Omaha; son and daughter-in-law, Otto and Linda Hagedorn of Tea, S.D.; nine grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and sister and brother-in-law, Marie and Don Beaver of Morovia, Calif.

In addition to her husband, Otto, she was preceded in death by three brothers and four sisters.

Campbell-Aman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
