Alfred F. Hagerbaumer age 82, of Hooper, passed away at an Omaha hospital Tuesday night following a three week illness. Born in Washington County, the son of Henry and Mary Hagerbaumer, he lived in the area his entire lifetime where he was engaged in farming and was still actively pursuing his occupation at the time of his death. He was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church near Hooper, the Lutheran Layman’s League, and had held several offices on the Church Council over the many years he served on that council. He was past Secretary-Treasurer of the Dodge County Farm Bureau holding that office for 26 years and had served on the School Board of District No. 14.

Art was united in marriage to Floma Panning on September 28, 1932 at Immanuel Lutheran Church. His wife survives along with one daughter, Mrs. Larry (Janelle) Wulf of Hooper, three grandchildren, Judi, Scott and Lesli and of Hooper, one brother, Harvey of Hooper and two sisters, Mrs. Lawrence (Elsie) Gnuse and Mrs. Oswald (Leona) Fuchs, both of Arlington. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Paula and one brother, Obert.

Funeral services were held on Friday, November 23, at the Immanuel Lutheran Church, Rev. Rodney Meske officiating. Interment was in the Memorial Cemetery in Fremont with services under the direction of Warne Funeral Home of Hooper. Music for the service was provided by Mrs. Richard Schurman, organist and the Men’s Quartette composed of Vernon Geisler, Lowell Mueller, Wayne Panning and Kenneth Tonjes. Pallbearers were Gene Fuchs, Gorlyn Hagerbaumer, Arlen Gnuse, Lee Panning, Leon Schuette and Lyle Wolf.
