ORVILLE AXTELL DIED SUNDAY AT MEMORIAL HOSP.

Orville C. Axtell, a resident of Blair for many years, died last Sunday, November 5th at Memorial Community Hospital in Blair. He had been in failing health for many months. The deceased was a retired mechanic who had been in the employ of the Vinton Motor Company at Blair for a number of years prior to his retirement. He lived at 1211 Grant street.

The deceased was born at Council Bluffs, Iowa, January 13, 1906, and was 66 years of age at the time of his death. He was the son of Samuel Axtell, an early-day resident here.

He worked at automotive repair and service at Blair service stations but had spent his final 19 years of employment with the Vinton firm. He is survived by his wife, Irene and by two daughters, Mrs. Evelyn Hansen of Fremont and Mrs. LaVaughn Holdman of California.

A brother, Lester Axtell resides in California and a sister, Mrs. Sarah Otto, lives in Omaha.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, November 8th at the United Methodist Church in Blair with the Rev. Charles Gates conducting the services. Burial was made in the Blair cemetery under the direction of the Campbell Mortuary.

Pallbearers were Harry Beck, Gordon Vinton, Richard Vinton, Robert Fuhrer, James Stokes and Don Petersen.
