MRS. PETER HAGGE DIED JULY 26

Anna Margaret Von Lanken was born March 16th, 1862 in Schleswig, Holstein Germany. When an infant she was baptized and later, as a young girl, was confirmed in the Lutheran Faith.

She came with a girlfriend, Miss Christena Hagge, to America and directly to Blair, Nebraska in 1884.

In 1885 she was married to Peter Hagge, and they moved to a farm west of Blair. They lived near Blair for thirty one years. To this union four children were born, three daughters and one son. Two daughters preceded their Mother in death. Matilda, May 2, 1897 at the age of our years and Emma, May 26, 1913 at the age of twenty five.

Her husband, Peter Hagge, passed away March 23, 1916 at their home near Blair. The following October Mrs. Hagge moved to Blair, and in this home she lived and enjoyed good health for thirty one years.

Mrs. Hagge was a hard working, industrious woman. Work was a real pleasure for her and her home was a reflection of her real self.

In August, 1947 her health began to fail, but she kept steadily working about her home, not consenting to go to the hospital until January 7th, 1948 when she was taken to the Methodist Hospital in Omaha where she received the best of medical care, but she derived no benefit from it and begged to be taken home.

On January 22nd her daughter, Mrs. Ed Wilson and Mr. Wilson brought her to their home in Herman where all that loving hands could do was done for her and here she was a patient sufferer until death came Monday morning, July 26, 1948 and took the frail spirit home to her Heavenly Father. She was 86 years, 4 months and 10 days.

She is survived by her daughter, Mrs. Ed Wilson of Herman, her son, Peter Hagge of Blair, five grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 from the Methodist church in Blair with Rev. Wigert of Herman officiating, and interment under the supervision of the Fick Funeral Home was made in the Blair cemetery.
