Glendale Francis Huddleson, only son of J. Oliver Huddleson and his first wife, Rosa Connor Huddleson, deceased, was born in Blair, Sept. 4, 1892, and was accidentally killed at 3 o’clock Sunday, May 16, at Mineral Point, Wisconsin. He was ordered to ascend a tale tower similar in construction to the tower in construction to the tower near the Missouri River in Blair where a similar accident occurred in Blair two years ago, and to make some needed repairs, just after a severe rain storm. The heavy current of electricity struck him in the forehead, knocking him to the ground below, where after speaking but twice he soon expired. His father, J.O. Huddleson, was notified by telegram Sunday evening and he left at once for the scene of the accident and returned Thursday morning with the body, which was taken to the home of his aunt, Mrs. P.W. Dixon, in Dexterville. The funeral services were held at 2 p.m. the same day at the Baptist church where he was a former faithful member of the Sunday School, at one time having won the prize Bible for faithful attendance and scholarship. His early life was spent in Blair, and he leaves to mourn his death his father’s family and his uncles, aunts and grandmother Huddleson and one uncle on the maternal side, Dan VanTassell. The pall bearers were his former schoolmates and were as follows: Arthur Gustansen, Howard Roberts, “Dutch” Wulff, Will Maher, “Base” Robinson and John Skinner. He was laid to rest in the Blair cemetery.
