Native Of Germany, He Lived At Fort Calhoun Until A Year Ago

Henry “Painter” Ohrt, 75, who came to Blair a year ago from Fort Calhoun, died here Monday, June 13, after a short illness. Born in Schoenberg, Holstein, Germany, May 6, 1863, he came to Omaha when 20 years old and moved the same year to Bennington. He resided at Bennington several years before coming to Washington county.

Mr. Ohrt is survived by four children, William of Omaha, Gus of Blair, Mrs. Anna Fox and Albert Ohrt of Dixonville, Oregon, and by one brother and two sisters living in Germany.

Funeral services were held last Wednesday at the Sievers Funeral Home at Fort Calhoun, the Rev. R. E. Donaldson of the Presbyterian church there officiating. Interment was in Fort Calhoun cemetery.
