Services were Fri., Sept. 27 at St. Leo's Catholic Church in Snyder for Margaret Ortmeier, 65 of rural Scribner, who died Sept. 23, 1996 at Immanuel Medical Center in Omaha. Burial was in St. Leo's Catholic Cemetery in Snyder.

Margaret Klitz Ortmeier was born July 12, 1931 in Dodge, Neb. She attended St. Boniface Catholic School in rural West Point, St. Leo's Catholic School in Snyder and was a 1949 graduate of Scribner High School. She graudated from Midland Lutheran College in Fremont with a degree in elementary education.

She taught in schools in the Dodge County rural school system, as well as at Pebble Valley Catholic School in Monterey. For the past 11 years, she had taught at St. Wenceslaus Catholic School in Dodge, completing a 25-year teaching career in the Catholic school system.

She was a member of St. Leo's Catholic Church in Snyder, St. Leo's Christian Mothers' Society, St. Leo's Guild and was a past president of St. Leo's Parish Council. She was also a member and past president of the Snyder Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary Post No. 8439 and a member of the Modern Belles Club.

She married Wilbert Ortmeier Dec. 28, 1960 in Snyder.

She was preceded in death by her father.

She is survived by her husband, Wilbert; a son, Mark Ortmeier of Wayne, Neb.; a daughter, Jane (Mrs. Daniel) Stratmann of West Point, Neb.; her mother, Gertrude Klitz of West Point; five brothers, Frances Klitz of West Point; Charles Kiltz of Omaha; Joe Klitz of Clarks, Neb.; Eugene Klitz of Fort Lupton, Colo.; and Michael Klitz of O'Neill, Neb.; six sisters, Rosemary Larsen and Patricia Helle, both of Omaha; Dorothy Heimann of Bowie, Md.; Jan Reilley of Fairfax, Va.; Rita Walter of Manchester, Mo. and Mary Jo Wilson of Blair and five grandchildren.

Humlicek Funeral Home in Dodge was in charge of arrangements.
