Janet Joy (Potter) Frye was born March 23, 1927, in Fremont to Harry and Ruth (Whitford) Potter. She graduated from Fremont High School in 1945, and received her Teaching Certificate at Midland College in Fremont. Janet married Eugene Frye May 24, 1946, at Schuyler. She was a substitute teacher in Elk City and Teachers Assistant at Arlington. She was employed at 3M in Valley for eight years, before retiring and moving to Fremont. For nearly 20 years, Janet was the Elk City Cemetery Sexton. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Fremont.

Janet is survived by three sons, Curt (Dianne) Frye of Wayne, Lee (Barbara) Frye of Elkhorn, and Marty (Brenda) Frye of Ralston; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Janet was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Eugene in 1993; daughter, Wanita in 1958; sister, Lillian Frye; and brother, Harry Potter.

Memorials may be directed to the Elk City Cemetery Association.
