FUNERAL SERVICES FOR DR. LEHMER ARE TODAY

Funeral services for Dr. Donald J. Lehmer will be on Monday, June 9th. Dr. Lehmer was Professor of Anthropology at Dana College since 1961.

Dr. Lehmer, age 57, died at Bergan Mercy Hospital in Omaha on Thursday, June 5, 1975. Dr. Lehmer died of cancer.

The services will be at 2 p.m. at the Crosby-Burkett Chapel, 119th and Center streets in Omaha. Dr. C.C. Madsen of Blair will officiate at the funeral services.

Dr. Lehmer is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Steve Harrover of San Francisco, and three sons. The sons are Samuel, David and Timothy, all living at home at 1817 Holling Drive in Omaha.

Dr. Lehmer received a B.A. from University of Arizona; a M.A. from the University of Chicago; and Ph.D from Harvard University.

Before coming to the Omaha area, Dr. Lehmer was a research archeologist for the Smithsonian institution in Washington D.C. He was widely known and recognized for his extensive studies of Indian cultures which flourished along the Missouri River.
