MRS. MAUDE M. LEMON DIES

Maude M. Lemon, daughter of J. A. and Nancy Compton, was born on a farm five miles north of Blair, June 3, 1884. She departed this life at her home in Blair, Nebraska August 15, 1936. Her age is 52 years.

She was united in marriage with Robert F. Lemon in 1903 and to this union three children were born, Gerald, Robert and Marguerite.

In 1905 she moved to Lyons, Nebraska, where the family lived until 1919, then they moved to a farm five miles north of Blair. The husband departed this life in 1926.

About ten years ago she suffered a paralytic stroke from which she recovered in a marvelous way. She suffered a second stroke about two weeks ago from which she might have rallied, but a sudden heart attack due to the extreme heat was the final cause of her death.

Mrs. Lemon was a woman of fine character, a splendid neighbor and possessed that quality of personality which makes and holds many friends. Very little of her time was devoted to civic organizations as she felt that her work and largest interests should be devoted to her home and family. She was decidedly a home-loving woman.

Those of the immediate family who remain are two sons and one daughter, Gerald, Robert and Marguerite, all of Blair, Nebraska.

There are five brothers and five sisters, Charlie, Perch, Fred, John, Mrs. Frank McManigal and Mrs. Harry Ervey, all of Blair, Nebraska; Carl of Weeping Water; Mrs. B. F. Peck of Decatur; Mrs. J. E. McManigal of Winnebago; Mrs. L. H. Lund of Casper, Wyoming. One grandchild, Gerriean Lemon, with many other relatives and a great host of friends.

The funeral services were held at the Blair Methodist Episcopal Church Monday afternoon, August 17th at 4:00 p.m., conducted by the pastor, Rev. D. A. McCullough. Burial was in Blair Cemetery.
