Wayne M. Sonderup, 59, of Blair, died Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2011, at Methodist Hospital in Omaha.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 28, at St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church in Blair.

Wayne M. Sonderup was born July 31, 1951, to Merle and Arlene (Olson) Sonderup in Blair. He attended Goll Country School from kindergarten to eighth grade and Blair High School until his graduation in 1969.

He married Kelli Wenz nee Ortmeier on August 6, 1994, in Blair.

Mr. Sonderup was a lifelong farmer. He worked for his own trucking company, R & W Farms, as well as Haden Trucking. He also worked for the Washington County Sheriff's Department as a deputy sheriff, Brunning Seed Company, and P & W Inc. before working full-time on his farm.

He enjoyed farming, hunting, fishing and cookouts with friends and family. He loved all westerns from John Wayne to Walker, Texas Ranger. He loved life, as indicated by his large circle of friends and family.

He is survived by his wife, Kelli; daughters, Jena Wenz and fiance Carl Coy of Omaha, Megan Wenz and fiancé William Herron of Omaha; son, Brad Wenz of Blair; mother, Arlene Sonderup; mother and father-in-law, Betty and Harold Ortmeier all of Blair; sisters and brothers-in-law, Wanda and Randy Blomker of Blair and Ruth and Bruce Arp of Papillion; brother and sister-in-law Russell and Kathy Sonderup; aunts, Betty and Kay Sonderup and Norma Olson all of Blair; seven nieces and nephews, three great-nephews, and many cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father, Merle M. Sonderup, and niece, Mari Sonderup.

Campbell-Aman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
