Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. on Dec. 11, 2015, at Campbell-Aman Funeral Home for Virginia D. Beck, longtime resident of Blair, recently of Autumn Pointe Assisted Living in Fort Calhoun.

Virginia was born March 27, 1923, in Sioux City, Iowa, and passed away in Omaha on Dec. 6, 2015.

She is survived by Daniel M. Beck, her husband of 68 years, and her children Cheryl R. Adkins of McQueeney, TX, Daniel R. Beck of Panama Beach, FL, and Steven M. (Jean) Beck of Blair, grandsons Danny (Diane) Adkins and Charles Adkins. Also survived by great-grandsons Derrick (Cassie) Adkins and Zachary Adkins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, two brothers and grandson John M. Adkins.

Virginia Doris Beck was born to Roland J. and Edna M. (Sampson) Bathurst on March 27th, 1923 in Sioux City, Iowa. She graduated from high school in Sioux City. There she met and married the love of her life, Daniel Martin Beck. They were married on July 22nd, 1947.

Virginia worked in Omaha for Bell Telephone Company and retired after 20 years of service. She was a proud member of the Federal Communication Workers Union, participated in Blair Community Theater productions and was a life-time member in T.O.P.S.

She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Daniel, of Autumn Pointe in Fort Calhoun; daughter Cheryl Rae Adkins of McQueeney, Texas; sons: Daniel Rowe Beck of Panama Beach, FL, and Steven Martin (Jean) Beck of Blair; grandsons Danny J. Adkins and Charlie Adkins of Omaha; great-grandsons: Derrick M. (Cassie) Adkins of Council Bluffs, IA, Zachary Adkins and special friend Alicia of Omaha; beloved extended family and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, two brothers and grandson John Martin Adkins.

Note; T.O.P.S. (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) is a national organization to encourage fellowship and maintaining a healthy weight.
