William H. Michelsen Passes

William H. Michelsen, a native of this county, was born at De Soto, March 15, 1874 and passed away at the Court View hospital at Blair, on April 17, 1937.

Deceased was the oldest son of the late Anton and Elizabeth Michelsen. He was married in August, 1904, to Miss Clare Goudy, who died in July of 1905.

His life, with the exception of a year spent in Europe with his mother and a year on a farm near Oakland, Nebraska, was spent on the farm at De Soto. He and his brother, George, were inseparable friends.

He was a patient in the Immanuel hospital in Omaha for a month and was then brought to the home of his brother, George, and later taken to the Court View hospital where the end came.

He is survived by his mother, Elizabeth Michelsen, of Florence, Nebraska; who is 91 years of age; three brothers, George of De Soto, Nebraska; Ole, of Oakland, Nebraska; Harry, of Omaha, Nebraska; two sisters, Mrs. Mattie Kindred, of Omaha, and Mrs. Lottie Matthews, of Winnebago, Nebraska and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held at the Baptist church in Blair, on Monday afternoon at 2 o’clock conducted by Rev. T. J. Reese. The music was furnished by J. Hilton Rhoades, singing three selections, accompanied by Mrs. Geraldine Stewart on the violin and Miss Ruth Quinlan at the piano.

Interment was made in the Blair cemetery.

Relatives from Omaha, Sioux City, Iowa, Lincoln, Council Bluffs, Iowa, Oakland and Winnebago, Nebraska attended the funeral.
