Former Kennard Man Is Dead

Carl R. Hitchcock, a former Blair resident, passed away at Kansas City, Mo. Monday. He had been ill several weeks.

The deceased was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Tom Hitchcock and was born at Kennard June 23, 1888. He made this his home until 1922 when he moved to Omaha for two years and then on to Kansas City, where he has been in business since 1924.

His wife is the former Josephine Jacobsen, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Ola Jacobsen of this city.

Mr. Hitchcock, is survived by his wife, two sons Raymond and Earl, of Kansas City, and a daughter, Mrs. Garland Reckart (Mary) also of Kansas City. A brother, Leon, of Kansas City survives, as well as four sisters, one of whom is Mrs. John Johnson, of Kennard.

Attending funeral services a Kansas City today are Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Ziegler, Mr. and Mrs. Henry C. Jensen and Mr. and Mrs. Martin Feltheim, all of Blair.

Carl R. Hitchcock, 65, Dies In K.C.

Carl R. Hitchcock, 65, former Washington Countian, died Monday at Kansas City, Mo. He was in poor health the past two years, and had suffered a heart attack last week.

Mr. Hitchcock’s home was at 2808 West 48th Terrance, Kansas City 3, Kan.

The funeral is being held at 2 p.m. today, with burial at Kansas City. Present from here were Messrs. and Mesdames Henry Jensen, Martin Feltheim and William Ziegler.

Mr. Hitchcock, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Tom Hitchcock and son-in-law of the late Mr. and Mrs. Ola Jacobson, was born here and was married to Josephine Jacobson. Surviving besides his wife are two sons, Earl and Raymond, both of Kansas City; a daughter, Mrs. Garland Reckart (Mary); five grandchildren; one brother and four sisters, one of whom is Mrs. John Johnson of Kennard.
