Helen M. Hahlbeck, 93, of Arlington, died Tuesday, Oct. 31, 2000, at the A. J. Merrick Manor in Fremont.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 3, at the Arlington Community Church. The Rev. Lynn Martin will officiate. Interment will be at the Arlington Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m., on Thursday, Nov. 2, at Reckmeyer-Moser Funeral Home in Arlington. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, visitation will continue on Friday, Nov. 3, from 9:30 a.m. to noon at the funeral home, and at the church on hour prior to services.

Helen M. Hahlbeck was born on Feb. 24, 1907, in Craig, Mo., to William and Lena (Quiler) Warren. She moved to Arlington with her parents when she was two years old. She grew up on a farm north of Arlington, and was a 1924 graduated of Arlington High School. She also taught school in the Arlington area prior to her marriage.

She married Alfred A. Hahlbeck on April 10, 1926, in Glenwood, Iowa.

Mrs. Hahlbeck was a member of the Arlington Community Church; a past matron and an over 65 year member of Sarepta Chapter #48, Order of Eastern Star Arlington; charter member and past president of the VFW Auxiliary Post #8332 of Arlington. She was a long-time resident of the Arlington area, and had been residing at the A, J, Merrick Manor in Fremont since October 1997.

She is survived by here three daughters and sons-in-law, Anita and Richard Stout of Battle Creek, Mi., Eleanor Hahlbeck of New York City, N.Y., and Susan and Loren Hagerbaumer of Hooper; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren.

Memorials are suggested to the Arlington Community Church; the Arlington Rescue Squad or the V.F.W. Auxiliary at Arlington.

Reckmeyer-Moser Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
