Earl Wayne Hale, former Blair resident, died at his home in Upland, California, on October 30. 1985. He was born October 19, 1908, and was married to Louise Marie Case on December 23, 1931, at the Divide Center Church in Lyons, Nebraska.

Hale farmed in Burt County for a number of years, and later was employed as a mechanic for International Harvester and John Deere in the Burt County and Washington County areas. He retired to California, and had lived there for the past sixteen years.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Edgar E. and Clara (Arnold) Hale; brothers, Cecil Hale and Harold Hale; sisters, Elva West and Doris Larson.

Survivors include his wife, Marie; two sons, Earl Hale, Jr. of Palmdale, California, and Donald Hale of Ontario, California; a daughter, Mrs. Leon Bragg (Donna) of Kenosha, Wisconsin; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; a brother, Floyd Hale of Lyons; and four sister, Ruth Brandt of Greeley, Colorado, Orpha Bowling of San Jose, California, Hazel Christensen of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and Evelyn Gilbreath of Lyons.

Services were held November 4 at Forest Lawn Chapel, Covina Hills, California.

Note: he was initially buried in California: there is a tombstone there for him. Then, when his wife passed, his body was moved to Blair, Nebraska and buried beside her in the Blair cemetery--and there is a tombstone there, too. The FindaGrave link goes to the Blair memorial--there are photos of him and her.
