Freida Haley, 90, of Blair died Tuesday, Aug. 18, 1998, at the Tekamah Nursing Center.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at First Lutheran Church in Blair. A 3 p.m. graveside services is scheduled at Woodlawn Cemetery in Wausa.

A prayer service will be 7 p.m. Thursday at Campbell-Aman Funeral Home, who is in charge of arrangements.

Freida Brassfield was born on 1, 1908, in Half Rock, Mo., to Orville and Sarah E. (Brittian) Brassfield. She was baptized and became a member of the Baptist Church. She graduated from Chillcothe High School in Missouri.

In 1932, she married Leon Haley. The family lived in Omaha for 17 years before moving to Wausa in 1949. They were members of the United Methodist Church in Wausa.

She worked as a bookkeeper for a hatchery and then as a secretary for a lawyer and an insurance salesman.

She later lived in California for 10 years and worked in a Boy Scout office.

She retired in Morrill, close to her daughter, Carol. She enjoyed helping as a volunteer grandmother in the Morrill Schools.

She moved to Blair and lived in Parkview Manor. She later moved to Good Shepherd Home.

She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Carol and Virgil Baker of Wheatland, Wyo., and Connie and Alvan Andersen of Blair; one son, Patrick Haley of Reno, Nev.; eight grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Leon, in 1949; her parents; three sisters and one brother.

Memorials are suggested to the United Methodist Church in Wausa or the First Lutheran Church in Blair.
