Raymon Halford, 67, passed away on Aug. 13, 1988 at Bishop Clarkson Memorial Hospital in Omaha.

Mr. Halford was born to E. B. and Fanny Halford in a log cabin in Gerty, Oklahoma on May 16, 1921.

He worked on ranches in the Oklahoma and Kansas area until enlisting in the Army in July of 1942. He served in the European theater and the occupation of Japan, attaining the rank of Staff Sergeant. After being released from Fort Carson, Colorado, he made his home in the Omaha area.

He was a member of the Mason Florence Lodge No. 281 as a Master Mason, a mounted patrol of the Shrine and the Blair Lions. He took pride in being one of the founding members of the Omaha Saddle Club.

Mr. Halford worked as a professional horse trainer and breeder in the Omaha and Blair area until his death.

He was preceded in death by his parents, oldest son Roy, infant daughter Joan, four brothers and three sisters.

Survivors include his wife Toni, two sons and daughters-in-law, Larry and Linda Halford of Fort Calhoun, Darrel and Betsy Halford of Bennington; grandchildren Kim, Ryan, Jody, Neil, and Ross Halford as well as many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 17, 1988 at First Lutheran Church in Blair with the Rev. Jim McBride officiating. Interment will be in the Herman Cemetery.

Arrangements will be handled by Campbell Funeral Home of Blair.
