Another of America's World War soldiers, Bernard Hall, passed to the Great Beyond last Sunday evening June 22 at the hospital in Wheatland, Wyo., following an operation the previous day. He was accidently shot while visiting on a homestead near Wheatland June 21, the charge penetrating the abdomen. He was rushed to the hospital but is spite of the best of care from the doctors, relatives and friends, the shot proved fatal. As soon as the news of the accident reached Arlington, his sister Clarice and brother Lawrence left at once for Wheatland but arrived too late. The remains were brought to Arlington Wednesday and laid to rest in the Arlington Cemetery. Funeral services were held at 6 o’clock from the home east of Arlington, the Rev. Bashford officiating. A sextet composed of Ralph Gilfry, Ralph Badger, Otto Meyer, Allen Laaker, Ralph Marshall and Otto Renard sung “America”, “Beautiful Isle of Somewhere”, “Abide With Me”. Vernon Marshall, Ed Nonnamaker, Henry Aubry, Ellsworth Chapman, Tony Bullock and Leslie Marshall, discharged soldiers and Home-Guards acted as pallbearers.

Bernard Hall, son of Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Hall, was born April 12, 1901 at Arlington and died June 22, 1919 at Wheatland, Wyo., at the age of 18 years. He enlisted July 28, 1918 in the Coast Artillery going to Ft. Worden, Washington. He was sent to four different camps and received his discharge form Camp Dodge, Ia. Dec. 16, 1918.

Bernard’s happy disposition won him many friends and his cheerful presence will be missed by all who knew him. A father, mother, four brothers and five sisters and other relatives are left to mourn his departure.
