SERVICES HELD FOR FORMER COUNTY RESIDENT

Funeral services were held Saturday, November 6, at First United Methodist Church in Topeka for Bertel E. Hall, 64, of Topeka, who died October 31, 1982. Burial was in Lebanon Cemetery, Kingman County, Kansas.

Bertel E. Hall was born on March 31, 1918, in Fremont to Walter E. and Andrea Frandsen Hall. A graduate of Arlington High School, he attended the Spartan School of Aeronautics in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

He married Mary Ellen McIlrath on May 21, 1950, in Topeka.

He was a weather forecaster with the National Weather Service in Topeka from 1948-1975 when he retired.

He was a veteran of World War II, serving with the United States Army. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Topeka; Philip Billard Post No. 1650 V.F.W., Topeka; and the National Association of Retired Federal Employees.

He was preceded in death by one daughter, Nancy Hall in 1973.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Ellen; and one son, Allan Hall, living in Europe. One brother, Ira Hal, Wichita, Kansas, also survives him.

Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church.

Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home in Topeka was in charge of arrangements for the services.
