Blair native Eunice E. Nykiel, 83, died Monday, Jan. 31,2011, at the Huntington Park Care Center in Papillion following a lengthy illness.

Services are Friday, Feb. 4, at St. Adalberts Church in Omaha.

Eunice E. Reeves was born Feb. 8, 1927, in Blair to Opal and Stella (Bunn) Reeves. She graduated from Blair High School with the Class of 1944.

She received her nursing training during World War II with the Cadet Nursing Program, and was a registered nurse at Methodist Hospital until her retirement.

On Oct. 24, 1950, she married Edward Nykiel.

She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Nancy and David and Deborah of Bellevue; one grandson; sister and brother-in-law, Janice and Daryl Miller of Blair; many nieces, nephews, great-grandchildren and others.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward; and a brother, Max Reeves.
