BLAIR BOY DIED; HIT BY TRUCK

Blair, Neb. - - Randall Packett Jr., 12, of Blair was killed Thursday when he was run over by the back wheels of a semitrailer while crossing a street.

The boy was crossing Washington Street near 14th Srreet when he was hit about 2:30 p.m., the Blair Police Department reported.

He was taken to Memorial Community Hospital in Blair and then transported by medical helicopter to St. Joseph Hospital in Omaha.

A hospital spokeswoman said the boy died of multiple injuries shortly after arrival.

Randall would have entered the sixth grade in the fall at Arbor Park Middle School in Blair. Survivors include his parents, Diane and Randall Packett; sisters, Dusty, Kimberly, and Hannah; and grandparents, Del and Elaine Packett of Tecumseh, Neb., and Beverly Myers of Pennsylvania.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the Campbell-Aman Funeral Home in Blair.
