MRS. WM. LAMB DEAD

PASSED AWAY MONDAY NOON, JUST TWO MONTHS AFTER HER HUSBAND’S DEATH

(picture)

Wm Lamb did not have to wait long on the other side for the companionship of his beloved wife, only two months to the day, both dying on Monday. Mr. Lamb passed out of this life on Monday, Aug. 21st and Mrs. Lamb joined him on Monday, Oct. 23rd.

Mrs. Lamb was living with her son, William, over in Dexterville, and was sick only about fifteen days. Rev. J.G. Shick will conduct the funeral service at 1 o’clock this afternoon at the Methodist Church.

Miss Martha Adkinson was born in Breckenridge County, Ky., May 8th, 1832, and was therefore 73 years, 5 months and 15 days old, Mr. Lamb being 79 years of age at the time of his death. They were married Oct. 4th, 1848 and had lived together for almost 57 years.

In 1869 Mr. and Mrs. Lamb came to this county and settled on a farm out in the Rose Hill neighborhood, where they lived for twenty-three years, moving to this city in 1892.

The seven children now living are: Henry, Wm., Charley, Mrs. James Ryan, Mrs. Andrew Allen, Mrs. W. T. Meador and Mrs. G.W. McCoy.

Mrs. Lamb was a live-long member of the Methodist Church, and lived a faithful and consistent Christian life. Mrs. Lamb was as kind and good a mother as Mr. Lamb was a father, and few children can boast of more worthy parentage.

(In the above obituary, note the different spelling of her maiden name in paragraph 3.)
