PATRICK LEONARD DIES

Patrick Leonard, for twenty years a resident of Blair, died at his home in Omaha last Wednesday morning of heart failure. Mr. Leonard, who has been for six years a crossing watchman in Omaha, was stricken while on his way home from work Tuesday night but recovered and spent a comfortable night. Early in the morning he got up for a drink of water and death came before he had reached his bed.

Funeral services were held from the Catholic church here on Friday morning and the body interred in the Catholic cemetery. Mr. Leonard was sixty years old and was born in Ireland. He came to this country over twenty-five years ago and had many friends in Blair and vicinity.

The deceased leaves a wife and son in Omaha and a brother, Tom Leonard, of Herman. His mother is still alive but was unable to attend the funeral on account of advanced age.

Pat Leonard died at his home at 1808 No. 20th street in Omaha Wednesday, January 21, 1914, of heart failure, the first attack striking him on his way home from work the evening before. Pat Leonard was born in Ireland, March 17, 1849, and came to America twenty-seven years ago, locating in Blair where he lived up to about five years ago, when he went to Omaha where he was employed as a crossing watchman on the M. & O. railroad. The remains were shipped to Blair Friday and he was buried from the Catholic church at 10 o’clock, Father O’Driscol conducting the last sad rites and the remains were laid to rest in the Catholic cemetery in Blair. He leaves to mourn his demise, a wife and one son in Omaha, and a brother, Tom, at Herman, Nebr., and a mother at Fairbanks, Iowa.

The body of Pat Leonard, who was a resident of Blair for many years, was brought up from Omaha where he has lived the past five years since leaving Blair, on last Friday and funeral services were held at the Catholic church, Father O’Driscoll officiating. He leaves a wife and son in Omaha and his brother Thomas lives near Herman. His aged mother is still living in Iowa.
