Stewart M. Carson, 82, died Thursday, Dec. 17, 2009, at his home in Arlington.

Services were Monday, Dec. 21, at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont. Full military honors were provided by the Fremont Honor Guard. Interment was at Omaha’s Hillcrest Cemetery.

Stewart M. Carson was born July 6, 1927, in Omaha to Robert E. and Vera (Lawrence) Carson. He grew up in Omaha.

He served in the U.S. Army and the Merchant Marines. He worked in Omaha and traveled to multiple states for HK Scholz, setting up and repairing substations for power plants. He moved to Arlington in 1987.

He married Mary McKinsey on June 19, 1949, in Omaha.

He is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, Craig and Bobbi Carson of Nickerson and Todd and Diane Carson of Arlington; daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Jim Miller of Lincoln; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Spencer and Marg Carlson of Omaha.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary, in 1992.

Memorials are suggested to the Omaha Home for Boys or the donor’s choice.
