Arlene M. Hansen, 86, of Fremont, formerly of Arlington and Dannebrog, died Thursday, December 24, 2015 at Edgewood Vista in Fremont.

Services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Monday at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church in Dannebrog. Reverend Sheri Lodel will officiate. Interment will be in Oakridge Cemetery in Dannebrog.

Visitation will be held for an hour before the service at the church.

Memorials are suggested to the family’s choice.

Jacobsen-Greenway Funeral Home in St. Paul is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Hansen was born April 6, 1929 in Dannebrog to Alton and Connie (Jackson) Hatt.

Arlene was baptized and confirmed at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church in Dannebrog. She graduated from Dannebrog High School in 1946. She attended Dana College in Blair where she received her teaching certificate and taught in a nearby rural school.

On June 20, 1948, Arlene was joined in marriage to Charles Richard Hansen by his father Rev. L. C. Hansen. To this union four children were born.

The couple owned and operated Hansen’s Market in Arlington, NE for 34 years until they retired. In 1996, they moved to McCook.

Arlene was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was an avid Bridge player. She enjoyed church activities, golf, preparing Holiday meals and playing the piano and organ.

She was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in McCook, the WELCA and Lutheran Women’s League.

Survivors include two sons and a daughter-in-law, Michael Hansen of McCook and Charles (Tom) and Pam Hansen of Fremont; two daughters, Mary Russell of Omaha and Sonja Yeager of McCook; nine grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; a brother, Russell Hatt of Cairo and a brother-in-law, Glen Minne of Dannebrog.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles on June 16, 2004; a grandson, David Katt; two brothers, Gerald and Rodney Hatt and a sister, Phyllis Minne.
