#1-Published in the Tribune 8 Feb 1923 Mrs. Ann Eliza Carter died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Frank Bigelow in the northeast part of Blair February 5, 1923, after an illness of several weeks, aged 67 years. Deceased was born in Maqukota, Iowa, September 3, 1855. He husband passed away Sept. 25, 1915, and for the past two years she has made her home with her daughter, coming here from Des Moines, Iowa. The funeral was held at the home Wednesday afternoon at 2:30, Rev. Swartwood of the Christian church officiating.

Mrs. Carter is survived by seven children: Mrs. H.J. Gibson, Herman; Guy L. Carter, Rockville, Md.; John W. Carter, Eugene, Ore.; Mrs. F.S. Bigelow and Mrs. Chas. Timm, Blair, and Albert H. Carter. Mrs. W.H. Hunt of Des Moines, two girls and one boy preceded their mother in death. There are ten grandchildren, to all of whom the sympathy of many friends is extended.

MRS. ANN ELIZA CARTER

Death called and Mrs. Ann Eliza Carter answered the call at 6 o’clock a.m. Feb. 5th, aged 67 years.

Ann Eliza Anderson was born in Maqukato, Iowa Sept. 3, 1855, and grew to womanhood in the state, and on July 3, 1877 was married to Daniel Carter. They made Iowa their home until 1906, moving from Harlan to Blair in that year and back again to Des Moines, Iowa in 1908.

In 1915 the husband died, and about six years ago the deceased came to Blair, and for the past two years has made her home with her daughter, Mrs. F. S. Bigelow.

Deceased was the mother of ten children, seven of whom are still living as follows: Guy L. Carter, Rockville, Md.; Mrs. H. J. Gibson of Herman, Nebr.; John W. Carter of Eugene, Oregon; Mrs. F. S. Bigelow of Blair, Nebr.; Albert H. Carter, Des Moines, Iowa; Mrs. Chas. Timm of Blair, Nebr. and Mrs. W. A. Hunt of Des Moines, Iowa.

Funeral services conducted by Rev. A. O. Swartwood of the Christian church were held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 7, at the home of the daughter, Mrs. F. S. Bigelow, and interment was made in the Blair cemetery.

All of the children were here for the ceremonies except Guy L. of Rockville, Md.; John W. Carter of Eugene, Oregon and Mrs. W. A. Hunt of Des Moines, Iowa.
