Services were Monday, March 30 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Fremont for Richard P. Christo, 38 of Nickerson who died at his home March 26, 1992. Rev. Charles Swanson officiated. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery in Fremont.

Richard P. Christo was born January 10, 1954 in Albion, Nebraska. He moved to the Fontanelle/Nickerson area when he was two years old. He was a graduate of Arlington High School.

He had been employed at George A. Hormel Co. until three years ago. He farmed.

He was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Fremont, Fremont Fraternal Order of Eagles No. 200 and played on the Arlington Town Basketball Team.

He married Rita Petersen June 20, 1987 at Nickerson.

He was preceded in death by his father, Pete Christo.

He is survived by his wife, Rita; a step-son, Jeffrey at home; a step-daughter, Amy at home; his mother, Martha Christo of Fremont and two sisters, Joyce (Mrs. Ronald) Johnk of Schuyler and Joann (Mrs. Gary) Schlapfer of Fremont.

Honorary pallbearers were Steve Sorenson, Terry Brokaw, Richard Scheer, Melvin Scheer, Larry Oerman and Rick York.

Pallbearers were Keith Socha, Bill Socha, Brad Socha, Larry Socha, Tim Christo, Randy Christo, David Bohm and Gary Jewell.

Moser Memorial Chapel I Fremont was in charge of arrangements.
