Raymond Howard Churchill, age 85, of Tekamah, passed away on Friday evening, January 2, 1987 at the Tekamah Senior Citizens Home after a lengthy illness.

He was born on April 27, 1901, at Sterling to William and Rachel (Stevens) Churchill.

He was united in marriage to Edith Crom on September 5, 1952, at Mountain Home, Arkansas.

Raymond farmed for many years, and after that did construction work for quite some time prior to his retirement.

Survivors include his wife, Edith Churchill of Tekamah; three daughters; Lucille Schmidt of Glendale, Arizona, Rita Lutcavich of Orange, California, and Linda Stork of Tekamah; two step-sons; Earl Griffen of Okeechobee, Florida and Tom Griffen of Fremont; one step-daughter, Judy Nordstrom of Blair, six granddaughters, and three grandsons.

Raymond was preceded in death by one son, Howard C. Churchill, in 1981; one brother William; one sister, Flora Truscott and one grandson.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Monday, January 5, 1987, at the Hamel & Peck Funeral Chapel in Tekamah with Rev. Marion H. Knoell officiating. Interment was in the Tekamah Cemetery. Arrangements were made by Hamel & Peck.
