A memorial service for Lee (Dude) Claborn, age 65 of Omaha who died Monday, March 30, 1992 at his home in Omaha following a lengthy illness, will be held 11:30 a.m. Saturday, April 4, at the St. Paul United Methodist Church in Omaha. Dr. Rodney Wilmoth will officiate. The church is located at 5410 Corley St. off Military Ave.

Lee Claborn was born December 25, 1926 in Stonington, Illinois to Levi J. and Nancy Ashenhurst Claborn. He grew up in the Blair-Herman area and graduate from Herman High School in 1944.

He entered the Air Force Cadet Program in Lincoln and later served in the Army in the Philippines and Japan during World War II.

He married Marilyn M. Wachter January 21, 1951 in Herman. They resided in Omaha where he was employed by Westinghouse. He later joined his brother in the appliance service business until he retired.

He was a member of the John J. Mercer Masonic Lodge No. 290 in Benson.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one sister.

He is survived by his wife, Marilyn of Omaha; son, Mikel of Scottsdale, Arizona; daughter and son-in-law, Kristi and Terry West of Ft. Leavenworth, Kansas; three grandchildren, Ay, Adam and Andrew West of Ft. Leavenworth three brothers, Eldred of Jacksonville, Florida; Bill of Omaha, and Robert of Sweet Spring, Missouri and two sisters, Elouise of Omaha and Betty Petersen of Rosslyn, Virginia.

Memorials may be directed to the family in lieu of traditional remembrances. A memorial fund has been established.

Campbell-Aman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
