Mrs. Nancy Jane Claborn Died At Omaha Tuesday

Mrs. Nancy Jane Claborn, 75, a well-known resident of Herman, died shortly after 4:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 16th in the Nebraska Methodist Hospital in Omaha. She had been ill for about six months.

Mrs. Claborn was born at Berksville, Kentucky on October 30, 1900

Jane, as she was affectionately known by everyone, and her husband, Levi, were residents of Herman for more than 45 years, having raised eight children and fostered countless close and lasting friendships throughout the County. Following her husband’s death in 1974, she continued to make her home in Herman and to dedicate her life to her home and family.

Survivors include: two brothers, John and Cam Ashinhurst, Assumption, Illinois; three sisters, Mrs. Bertha Shumake, Blair; Mrs. Monte Flowers, Bow, Kentucky; Mrs. Sally Nation, Moweaqua, Illinois; four sons, Eldred Lee, Jacksonville, Florida; L. J. “Dude”, Omaha; Billy Eugene, Omaha; Robert Charles, Sedalia, Missouri; four daughters, Mrs. Glen Green (Elouise), Dunlap, Iowa; Mrs. Earl Petersen (Betty), Springfield, Missouri; Mrs. Joseph Avilia (Shirley) Omaha; and Mrs. Ida Pyle, Taylorville, Illinois; 17 grandchildren 6 great grandchildren, and one great, great grandchild.
