Susan J. (Kai) Christensen, 65, of Herman entered peacefully into heaven on the morning of January 14, 2016. Services will be Tuesday, January 19, 2016 at the Herman Legion at 10:00 AM. Visitation will be Monday starting at 3:00 PM at Campbell-Aman Funeral Home with family receiving friends from 6-8 PM.

Susan was born on November 22, 1950, in Wakefield, NE to Manford “Fat” Kai and Maxine (Eaton) Kai. She had four children: Christy, Joseph, Aaron, and Nicole. Her greatest joy in life was being a mother. In 1998, she married Michael Christensen, and gained three step children. Susan reveled in motherhood, her church, and gardening. Susan was very giving and thoughtful. She fought her battle with leukemia with grace and dignity.

She is survived by her husband Michael, children Christy Herzberg Lorsch, Joseph Bell, Aaron Bell, Nicole Sherwood, Kurt Applegate, Brandi Christensen, and Cory Christensen; sisters Sandra Kai, Karen Brown, and Linda Griggs; brother Tommy Barnes; many grandchildren, nieces and nephews, cousins and aunts and uncles.

Memorials may be sent to the Herman Legion Memorial Fund in Susan’s name.
