DIED AT HIS HOME AT DESOTO, WASHINGTON COUNTY, NEBR., SATURDAY, JULY 11, 1896: MR. SOLOMON HINELINE

Deceased was born in the year of 1819, at Easton, North Hampton, Pennsylvania; came to DeSoto in 1854, and by honesty, virtue, temperance, industry, he accumulated a comfortable home. His health failed several years ago, but was tenderly cared for by a faithful companion and devoted children.. He united with the Church of Christ of Latter Day Saints in the year 1894.

The funeral took place July 13, at 2:30 in the afternoon. The pallbearers were old settlers, in fact the house was full, seemingly, of old settlers. The young ladies of DeSoto, assisted by some friends at Blair, formed the solemn choir as they sang “Beckoning Hands at the Gateway.” Many anxious faces were very noticeable throughout the assembly, denoting heartfelt emotion such as could only be felt by life-long associates. Prayer was offered by Mr. Stricklett, of Blair, after which the remains were taken to Desoto Cemetery, the place of his choice, and tenderly consigned to their last resting place there to await the resurrection of the just.

As we thus parted from a faithful friend, a good neighbor and brother, there seemed an assurance that he could at least “Read his title clear to mansions in the skies.”

A wife and six grown-up children survive him. A telegram failed to reach his favorite minister, so the funeral sermon will be preached Sunday, July 26, at one P.M. at DeSoto school house by Elder G.M. Whittman, of Omaha.
