Ivan D. Christiansen, 76, of Blair, died Monday, Dec. 7, 2009. Private graveside services will be held at a later time.

Ivan Dale Christiansen was born Oct. 9, 1933, in Blair to Francis and Helen (Nelson) Christiansen.

He graduated from Tekamah High School and attended college at Omaha University, graduating in 1961 from Dana College in Blair.

For several years, he worked at Omaha University, and later in California as a bookkeeper. He returned to the Blair area to be closer to his family.

He served in the United States Navy, and was discharged in 1957.

He was a member of the Blair Housing Board, serving as their president, at the time of his death.

He is survived by a sister, Doris Stokes; a grand-niece Kimberly Arrington and husband, Jon; and by a nephew and niece, Nickolas and Mikayla Arrington.

He was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Earl Stokes.
