HAROLD R. CLARY, 86

Harold R. Clary, 86, of Fort Calhoun, died Friday, May 21, 2010, in Fort Calhoun.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 12, at Sievers-Sprick Funeral Home in Fort Calhoun, followed by an inurnment service with military honors provided by the American Legion Post No. 348 at the Fort Calhoun Cemetery. Food and fellowship will be provided by the Legion Post No. 348 immediately following the inurnment.

Harold R. Clary was born July 15, 1923, in Omaha, where he was raised. He had lived in Fort Calhoun since 1972.

Mr. Clary was a member of Fort Calhoun American Legion Post No. 348, and was a former member of the Omaha area Operators Union. He was also a member of the Bricklayers Union No. 1 for a period of time.

On Nov. 21, 1942, he married Caroline Christensen in Papillion.

She survives him, as do his sons and daughters-in –law, Harry and Aileen Clary of Omaha, Charles and Bonita Clary and James and Anita Clary, all of Fort Calhoun; daughters and son-in-law, Susan Clary of Vancouver, Wash., and Patty and Richard Johnson of Johnston, Iowa; 19 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law, Helen and George Vasholtz.

He was preceded in death by a sister and two brothers.

Memorials are suggested to the Fort Calhoun Fire and Rescue, American legion Post 348, or the family.
