Private services were held in California for Rose Halstead, 81, who died October 1, 1990 in San Leandro, California.

Rose Halstead was born Harriet Rosemary Madsen in Roskilki, Denmark, April 11, 1909. She was the daughter of the late Christina Rosterman of Blair and Walter Madsen of Lyons.

She worked at the old Blair Hospital on east Lincoln Street, Eden Hospital in Castro Valley, California, and Doctors Hospital in Oakland, California.

She married Delbert Halstead of Shenandoah, Iowa, in 1925. They moved to Oak Park, Illinois and later to the California Bay area.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Delbert, of San Leandro, California; and one son, Richard Halstead of Council Bluffs, Iowa.

She is survived by one daughter, Rosalie Enos of Albany, California; nine grandchildren; three sister, Helen Kearnes of Blair, Goldie Fleury of Lake Charles, Louisiana, and Ruth Schoeman of Atlanta, Georgia; and two brother, Arnold Rosterman of Blair and Robert Rosterman of Chicago, Illinois.
